January 2025 – Indonesian Journal of Language and Communication Studies (IJLCS) was formally initiated as a scholarly journal dedicated to language and communication studies, aiming to provide a reputable publication platform for researchers and academics at national and international levels.

March 2025 – The journal’s editorial policies, focus and scope, and peer-review guidelines were finalized in accordance with international academic publishing standards.

May 2025 – IJLCS adopted a fully online editorial management system to support transparent manuscript submission, review, and publication processes.

July 2025 – The editorial board was strengthened through the involvement of scholars with expertise in linguistics and language-based communication studies.

October 2025 – IJLCS published its inaugural issue and began regular publication in line with its stated frequency.

Ongoing – The journal continues to improve editorial quality, peer-review practices, and international visibility to support its long-term goal of becoming an internationally recognized journal in language and communication studies.
